    The Logistics & Supply Chain Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management and distribution of humanitarian aid in crisis-affected areas of North Sudan. This role is responsible for transportation, warehousing, procurement, and inventory management, ensuring aid materials reach those in need on time and in good condition. The position involves close coordination with local suppliers, international partners, and field teams to ensure smooth logistics operations. Given the challenging operational environment, the role requires strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and experience in emergency logistics.

  • Job Responsibility

    Job Responsibilities

    1. Supply Chain & Logistics Management

    • Oversee the transportation, storage, and distribution of humanitarian relief items (food, medical supplies, shelter materials, etc.).
    • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain operations in crisis-affected areas.
    • Ensure the timely and safe delivery of relief materials to remote and conflict-prone locations.
    • Monitor and track shipments, inventory levels, and warehouse operations.

    2. Procurement & Supplier Coordination

    • Identify, assess, and establish relationships with local suppliers, transporters, and service providers.
    • Negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and high-quality procurement of relief materials.
    • Ensure compliance with donor and organizational procurement guidelines.

    3. Warehouse & Inventory Management

    • Oversee storage facilities to ensure aid materials are safely stored and well-managed.
    • Implement inventory control systems to prevent losses, damages, and stockouts.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate stock records.

    4. Risk Management & Compliance

    • Develop and enforce logistics security protocols to ensure safe movement of goods in conflict-prone areas.
    • Ensure compliance with local government regulations, international humanitarian standards, and IRN policies.
    • Prepare and submit logistics reports detailing supply chain activities, challenges, and recommendations.

    5. Coordination & Communication

    • Work closely with IRN field teams, partner NGOs, UN agencies, and government authorities to streamline humanitarian logistics.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for logistics-related issues in North Sudan.
    • Train and mentor local logistics staff to improve capacity and efficiency.

  • Educational Requirement

    Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.

  • Experience Requirement

    Experience Requirements

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in humanitarian logistics, supply chain management, or emergency response operations.
    • Prior experience working with international NGOs, UN agencies, or humanitarian organizations is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, warehousing procedures, and transportation networks in conflict areas.

      • Proficiency in English is required.
      • Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable for effective communication with local stakeholders.

      • Ability to work under pressure in conflict-prone and resource-limited settings.

    • Willingness to travel to field locations across Sudan, including high-risk areas.
